Effects of doping in diodes

Pure Silicon or Germanium are rarely used as semiconductors. Practically usable semiconductors must have controlled quantity of impurities added to them. Addition of impurity will change the conductor ability and it acts as a semiconductor. The process of adding an impurity to an intrinsic or pure material is called doping and the impurity is called a dopant. After doping, an intrinsic material becomes an extrinsic material. Practically only after doping these materials become usable Effect of Doping on N-type Material The effect of doping on an N-type material is as follows − On addition of Arsenic to pure Silicon, the crystal becomes an N-type material. Arsenic atom has additional electrons or negative charges that do not take part in the process of covalent bonding. These impurities give up or donate, one electron to the crystal and they are referred to as donor impurities. An N-type material has extra or free electrons than an intrinsic material. An N-type material is not negativel...

Embedded System

Top five questions that are asked in any interview

Qus. Why should I hire you? Qus. You are not selected in this company now what you can do? (QUS). what you do when company rejected you? (ANS). i ask the shortcomings that interviewer will see in me and i try for the next with much preparation so next time i will surely be a part of your company. yes, i can relocate to work with new collegues, new exposure and visiting new place. after some time i call parents to live with me and  my weakness is workholic. when i started work then i skip the lunch or dinner to complete the work. i am very helpful person but due to this i am not able to complete my own task. after realizing it i startred selfish behavior to complete my own task. Previous times when I write assignment given to me for that I skip the dinner. I believe in permanency in work. So, if I work with the same energy and concentration then this company will also offer me same or high salary. So, I give best to this company to grow my life with this company. What are the ...

Diodes

Image
ideal diode Ideal diode is two terminal which acts as perfect insulator when reverse biased and acts perfect conductor when forward biased. Characteristic  1. When ideal diode is forward biased. it acts as perfect conductor with zero resistance and zero voltage drop across it. When forward bias voltage increases the depletion layer width is also decrease and due to decrease in depletion layer the resistance across the diodes in forward bias condition decreases. 2. When ideal diode is reversed biased it acts as perfect insulator with infinite resistance and zero current through it. When reverse bias voltage across the diode increases the depletion layer width is increases and due to increase in depletion layer width the resistance in reverse bias condition across the diode increases. 3. Thus  Ideal diode acts as automatic switch. 4. which is closed in forward bias(i.e. acts as a cl...
